Rainier League of Arts (RLA) is a non-profit art club located in Tacoma, WA. Meetings feature artist demonstrations of techniques and materials such as: Oil, watercolor, pastels, colored pencil, charcoal, acrylic, 3D art, photography and mixed media. RLA shows art in local area venues.
Fred Oldfield was one of the founding members, some current members are also professional artists. The club was started in 1968 by Roselle Souza, Paul Chalk, Hazel Gibbons, Fred Oldfield and Aletha Deuel. RLA welcomes new members including fine artists, photographers, as well as new emerging artists. No fee to attend the first meeting, after that, yearly club dues are $25 for 2019-2020. RLA meetings are currently on hold due to Pandemic: When meetings resume, they will take place on the 3rd Tuesday each month at 7PM at Mid-County Community Center, 10205 44th Ave. E, Tacoma, WA (behind Central Avenue Elementary School) No meetings in July or August. Potluck in lieu of Dec. meeting. When not meeting; members continue to share art in RLA's Newsletter and on the "Rainier League of Art" Facebook Page.
