About Rainier League of Arts

Rainier League of Arts, a non-profit art club located in Tacoma, WA, was founded in 1968 by Paul Chalk, Aletha Deuel, Fred Oldfield, Roselle Souza, and Hazel Gibbons. New members are welcome, including: Fine artists, photographers, and emerging artists. RLA meetings feature art presentations of techniques/materials such as: Oil, watercolor, pastel, colored pencil, charcoal, acrylic, 3D art, photography and mixed media. RLA shows artwork in local area venues. While meetings are currently on hold due to the Pandemic, members continue to share art in RLA's Newsletter and on the "Rainier League of Art" Facebook Page and participate in area art shows. When meetings resume, they will take place on the 3rd Tuesday each month at 7PM at Mid-County Community Center, 10205 44th Ave. E, Tacoma, WA (behind Central Avenue Elementary School) No meetings in July or August. Potluck in lieu of Dec. meeting. No fee to attend the first meeting, after that, yearly club dues are $25 for 2021-2022.

October 2018 Art Presentation/Demonstrator

The October 16th demonstrator for Rainier League of Arts will be Tim Huhn.  Tim graduated from the California College of Arts and Crafts with a BA in Fine Arts and Illustration.  He worked as a commercial illustrator in Los Angeles for Disney, Universal Studios, Sony and Mattel.  Tim is fascinated by the interplay of light and shadow, the quicksilver qualities of illumination. He exhibits at the Proctor Art Gallery in the north end of Tacoma.  Tim's website:
